In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Blur frontman Damon Albarn has revealed that he’s been “in the process of reactivating Gorillaz for a 2016 release.” The virtual band has not released an album since 2011’s The Fall.

The book will feature drawings from Hewlett’s prolific 25-year career. The book’s release date is still unknown, but it ultimately could fill the void left by the inactivated Gorillaz, and provide some interesting material for fans who have been awaiting their next release.

#38 – Damon Albarn – Everyday Robots (Parlophone)

Everyday Robots is the first solo album fromDamon Albarn, the longtime member of Blur and the genius behind the virtual band Gorillaz. Admittedly, I was somewhat disappointed by Everyday Robots, perhaps my expectations were too high. I had hoped to hear a another fantastic album from Albarn fusing the sounds of Gorillaz and Blur. Instead Everyday Robots is melancholic and sleepy.  It still makes the Top 50 albums because of its well-written songs, and stellar musicianship.
