Watch Nirvana Live at Reading Festival Aug 30, 1992 (full concert)

This legendary performance begins with Kurt Cobain coming on stage in a wheelchair, a reference to his recent stays in rehab to beat his drug addiction. NME reports that Dave Grohl was convinced that Nirvana’s headline appearance at Reading Festival in 1992 would end their career.

“Kurt had been in and out of rehab…People weren’t even sure if we were going to show up.”

Grohl added that even he wasn’t confident that the band would be able to pull the gig off.

“We rehearsed once, the night before, and it wasn’t good. I really thought, ‘This will be a disaster, this will be the end of our career for sure.’ And then it turned out to be a wonderful show, and it healed us for a little while.”

Live at Reading was released on CD/DVD on November 2, 2009.

Gorillaz reactivating for a 2016 release plus a new Retrospective Art Book

In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, Blur frontman Damon Albarn has revealed that he’s been “in the process of reactivating Gorillaz for a 2016 release.” The virtual band has not released an album since 2011’s The Fall.

jamie hewlett gorillazIn other news, Gorillaz co-founder Jamie Hewlett recently shared his future plans on Instagram. The UK artist and co-creator of Tank Girl, intends to publish a retrospective collection of his artwork in the form of a 518-page book. The book will feature drawings from Hewlett’s prolific 25-year career. The book’s release date is still unknown, but it ultimately could fill the void left by the inactivated Gorillaz, and provide some interesting material for fans who have been awaiting their next release.
